It's an unique city , its beauty needs some time to be fully understood

This one was made with one of the best digital compact camera ever made : a Ricoh GRD 2
A specialized camera , no doubt, but a marvelous one

Here we go
Starting a new project , based on an interaction between some street images and some abstract or highly symbolic images
The subject is Christmas , a theme that can be seen from different perspectives
And Rome is a special city to do it , for it's dual nature (religious and laical)

My world (Campo De Fiori)

This is one of my favorite place, in Rome (Italy)
It's Campo 'de Fiori , and it's near Piazza Navona (one of the most beautiful square )
I do love this place for several reasons
One reason is that it changes deeply during the day
You could find a characteristic market in the morning , until the early afternoon
Then it becomes one special place for the happy hour (before dinner)
And , at last, it's the most popular teenager's square during the night

I tried to tell this place through some suggestions

Questo è uno dei mie posti preferiti di Roma
Campo 'de Fiori , vicino Piazza Navona (una delle più belle piazze...)
Amo questo luogo per diverse ragioni
Una di queste ragioni è che riesce a cambiare profondamente durante la giornata
Potrete trovare un mercato caratteristico la mattina, fino al primo pomeriggio
Quindi diventa un luogo speciale dove consumare un aperitivo prima di cena
Ed infine è la piazza più popolare per i ragazzi entro i 20 anni durante la notte

Ho provato a raccontare questo luogo attraverso alcune suggestioni
Spero vi piacciano

As you can see (or , at least, I hope so...) even when I'm working in a different contest (a wedding) I try to get the same kind of images

A suggestion told through natural images ( a wedding's reportage)

So my point of view reflects what I really am

My world

This is an old picture

But , I think, it's representative.

My point of view is that each work, describes the photographers , not the world itself

At least we could talk we're seeing the way the photographer see his world

But , for my formation ( I'm a psychologist) it'a deeper concept

Almost each kind of work can talk about the man behind it

But a creative one, just like this , can enlighten even some of our darker (i mean less known) character's points

We can understand ourself starting from the things we do each day

And photography it's something special , something that can make us reflect on what we really are

Questa è una vecchia foto.

Ma penso che sia rappresentativa

Il mio punto di vista è che ogni lavoro rappresenti il fotografo, non il mondo in se e per se.

Come minimo potremmo dire che stiamo osservando il modo in cui un fotografo osserva il suo mondo.

Ma, sarà per la mia formazione, (sono uno psicologo) è un qualcosa di più profondo.

Ogni tipo di lavoro (o quasi) ci può raccontare dell'uomo che c'è dietro esso

Ma un lavoro creativo , come questo, può illuminare anche alcuni lati più oscuri , meno conosciuti,del nostro carattere

Insomma possiamo imparare a conoscerci partendo da ciò che facciamo ogni giorno.

E la fotografia è qualcosa di speciale , qualcosa che ci può far riflettere su ciò che davvero siamo.

Ne è passato di tempo dall'ultimo post.

Oramai siamo alla fine dell'anno ed il proposito è quello di portare avanti questo progetto

Senza più tempi morti così lunghi

Nel frattempo ecco per voi qualche foto "street" , sempre di Roma.

Prossimamente vorrei cominciare a costruire una "dalettica" tra vari autori

I confronti di stile , tecnica e visioni diverse sono solo un arricchimento

Getting Inspired

I think every photographer (or any kind of artist) can be inspired even from other artistic genres

Literature , for examples, could give us some mental images and we could try to move in different directions

I think this is a crucial point: today everything has been photographed

To reach a personal , unique language, we must be receptive , sensitive as much as we can from each sense and from each kind of communication (art is a form of communication)

Getting inspired by a song to create a picture with some atmospheres is a perfect example to understand what I mean.

Meanwhile here we go with 2 pictures (Moby's concert in Rome, Piazza del Popolo)

I didn't reach what I wanted to reach , but it's not easy to reproduce the Moby's songs feelings in a couple of pictures

Io penso che ogni fotografo (o ogni tipo di artista) può essere ispirato o ispirarsi ad altri o da altri generi artistici.

La letteratura , ad esempio, potrebbe regalarci alcune immagini mentali e da qui potremmo muoverci in direzioni diverse da quanto preventivato.

Io penso che questo sia un punto cruciale: oggi è stato già fotografato TUTTO

Per raggiungere un proprio linguaggio , unico e maturo , dobbiamo essere ricettivi e sensibili , tanto quanto possiamo da ogni senso, da ogni tipo di comunicazione (l'arte è un tipo di comunicazione)

Essere ispirati da una canzone per creare una foto con una certa atmosfera è un esempio perfetto per capire ciò che intendo.

Intanto procediamo con due foto (concerto di Moby a Roma, Piazza del Popolo)

Non sono riuscito a raggiungere ciò che volevo raggiungere , ma non è semplice riprodurre le sensazioni, i sentimenti delle canzoni di Moby in un paio di foto

This is a little, personal , post.

I'm starting a new long-term project

It's based on one of the most aseptic modern spaces: the shopping center

This first picture , captured in a very short session is called "Man & Product"

Critics and comments are welcome!

Questo è un piccolo post personale e tratta dell'inizio di un mio nuovo progetto personale a lungo termine

Il tutto è basato su uno degli spazi moderni più asettici in assoluto: il centro commerciale.

Questa prima foto, scattata ina sessione davvero molto corta si chiama "Uomo&Prodotto"

Critiche e commenti, come sempre, benvenuti.

I think there should be a link between form & content in photography

The messagge we communicate could be express by several ways

How we can learn which is the most useful and effective?

It's a long way process

One of the first things to learn is to minimize the information.

Every single element in the picture should be important for the message to not distract from the message itself

So, while framing the picture, try to eliminate the unnecessary elements

Enjoy the pictures!

Io credo debba esserci un legame tra forma e contenuti nella fotografia

Il messaggio che comunichiamo può essere espresso in diverse maniere

Come possiamo imparare qual'è il più utile ed efficace?

Si tratta di un processo piuttosto lungo.

Una delle cose da imparare è quella di minimizzare l'informazione.

Ogni singolo elemento nella foto dovrebbe essere utile al messaggio, per non distrarre dal messaggio stesso.

Così, nel momento della composizione, cercate di eliminare ogni possibile elemento superfluo, la composizione ne gioverà.

The idea behind this one is different

I think there's no need to add another technical blog, either.

There are several , excellent sites and blogs that propose a GREAT technical value

My first thought goes to seriouscompacts.com (I suggest you to go there and browse throught their pages....you can find a link from this blog) or Dpreview or many others sites

No I'd like to create a place where we can focus on photographic culture , where this kind of art is the center and from which we can move all around , where we can range touching every aspect of this beautiful art

There will be a structure and many ideas (and some co-workers )

Last , but not least, the interaction between the readers and the authors will develop in many different directions

Come già detto , questo non sarà un blog esclusivamente personale.

L'idea che c'è dietro questo progetto è diversa.

Non penso nemmeno ci sia bisogno di un altro blog tecnico , visto che ci sono molti siti che propongono un livello di divulgazione tecnica molto molto alto

Mi viene in mente, ad esempio , seriouscompacts.com (vi suggerisco di andarci e di farvi una navigazione approfondita tra le loro pagine , il link lo trovate direttamente da questo blog) o Dpreview o molti altri.

No, mi piacerebbe creare uno spazio dove possiamo concentrarci sulla cultura fotografica, dove questo tipo di arte è il centro del discorso e dal quale possiamo spaziare tutto intorno e toccare così ogni aspetto di questa meravigliosa forma espressiva

Chiaramente ci sarà una struttura e molte idee da sviluppare

Infine l'interazione tra autori e lettori sperò diverrà una chiave centrale di questo blog e si svilupperà anch'essa in molte direzioni diverse.!

Hi!

I'm Federico.

I'm a photographer , born in Rome, in 1977

I'm working as a wedding's photographer

But I work also as a photo reporter , portraitist and I do cover various events

As soon as possible I'll show some of my works here (there are 3 photos by now...) , and , we'll talk about the digital workflow and the relationship between form and content

This blog shouldn't be only MY blog!

I hope to build a place to interact with people who loves photography and wants to share their experiences

Mi chiamo Federico e sono un fotografo.

Sono nato (1977) e cresciuto a Roma

Al momento sto lavorando come fotografo matrimonialista , ma lavoro anche come foto reporter , ritrattista e copro numerosi eventi

Al più presto mostrerò alcuni dei miei lavori qui (ci sono già 3 foto, al momento) e cominceremo a parlare del flusso di lavoro in digitale e della relazione esistente tra forma e contenuto.

Questo non dovrebbe essere solamente il mio blog!

Spero di riuscire a costruire un posto dove interagire con persone che amano la fotografia e vogliono condividere le loro esperienze.
